What is First Nations Employment?

First Nations Employment is a job board for Indigenous jobs in Canada. It helps Indigenous job seekers find work and connects them with employers who support Indigenous talent: employers and consultants post jobs; job seekers search, save and apply for free.

How do I find Indigenous jobs in Canada?

Search Find Jobs by job title, skill, employer, city, province or territory, or browse a kind of work. To see postings whose employer indicates they welcome applications from Indigenous people, choose “Indigenous-inclusive employers”. Searching, saving and applying are free.

What does “Indigenous-inclusive employer” mean?

The badge appears when the employer indicates on the posting that they welcome applications from Indigenous people. Not every posting carries it, and it does not limit who may apply.

Can I get alerts for new jobs?

Yes. Set the kinds of work and places you’re interested in on your profile, and we’ll let you know when matching jobs are posted, in the app and by email if you choose.

How do I post a job in Canada?

Create an employer account, set up your company profile once, then write the posting: pay, hours, work locations and how to apply. Review it exactly as job seekers will see it and publish; it goes live on First Nations Employment as soon as payment is confirmed, appears in Find Jobs and on your company page, and is sent to job seekers whose job alerts match. Recruiting for a client? A consultant account posts under the client’s name.

How much does it cost to advertise a job?

Employers pay $19.95 + GST ($20.95 in total) per posting per month; third-party consultants posting for a client pay $14.95 + GST ($15.70 in total) per posting per month. A posting renews every month until you cancel it, and every payment has a receipt. Job seekers never pay.
